AcroNola Parade Float
While living in New Orleans, I got really into acroyoga and decided it would be fun to form a Mardi Gras krewe to join the annual Chewbacchus parade. For our first year, we built a float using basic 2x4 construction. Although it was fun, the design proved impractical since we didn’t have a good place to store it, and it was difficult to reassemble.
The next year, I decided to take a different approach, designing a float using CNC techniques. This allowed for more precision and ease of assembly, making it more practical for storage and reuse. The experience gave me a chance to combine my interests in design, fabrication, and creative expression, all while celebrating New Orleans' unique culture.
